the basics

— takes 15 minutes

— It’s almost hummus and not quite hummus because I don’t include tahini. I don’t think it’s worth it to buy a whole jar of the stuff for this one recipe, but feel free to add some if ya got it.


the ingredients

— chickpeas | 15 oz can, rinsed & peeled

I know peeling chickpeas sounds ridic. If you don’t want to do it, you certainly don’t have to, but I do think it makes for an extra creamy texture in the end.

— paprika | 1/2 tsp

— cumin | 1/2 tsp

— lemon juice | 1 tbs

— garlic | 1 clove, crushed

— olive oil | 2 tbs

— water | 1/4 cup

— salt & pepper | 1/2 tsp each

— blend all ingredients and taste to make sure there’s enough salt and brightness from the lemon
