the basics

— serves 4

— takes 25 minutes (all you really have to do is shred it at the end)


the ingredients

— boneless & skinless chicken breasts | 1 lb (about 2 big ones)

— water | enough to cover

— salt | 1 tsp


the process

— in a medium pot, cover chicken breasts with water and add your salt

— boil over high heat until internal temperature reaches 165 or the meat is cooked through, about 15-20 minutes

— transfer the chicken to a plate, allow to cool so you don’t char your fingers, and shred by hand or with two forks

— This is a great way to make a boatload of chicken that can be thrown in with any vegetables or grains you have for a quick meal that’ll at least keep you alive.
